What Trakt focuses on
Trakt keeps a history of the films and TV episodes you watch. It can record them automatically from connected media players and apps, and it syncs your history, ratings, watchlist and lists with many third-party apps.
It is popular with people who want their viewing history shared across several apps and devices.
What Backlog adds
- One list for four kinds of mediaMovies, TV shows, games and books live side by side in the same library, with the same statuses: Backlog, In Progress and Done.
- Home Screen widgetsUp Next on your Home Screen, with a +1 button to mark the next episode watched without opening the app.
- TV progress and new-episode remindersBacklog keeps your place by season and episode, shows what’s new since you last watched, and the iPhone app can remind you when a show you follow comes back.
Bringing your films and TV over
Backlog imports any CSV file with title, type, status, rating, year and notes columns. If you have your viewing history in a spreadsheet, arrange it in those columns and upload it; anything Backlog can’t match is listed so you can pick the right title.
